DID HOME REBUILDING PLAN FOR 512 XI QUAN EARTHQUAKE

On 12th May 2008, Wen Chuan, China was hit by the deadly Richter scale 8 earthquake. Suddenly, the whole place became hell. Those buildings became the graveyard of thousands of thousands men, women and a lot of lovely children. All you can hear is groaning, crying and screaming from those who still alive.

The hearts of our DID Board members were shake too because they all have Chinese blood inside. We acted immediately, and gathered RMB157,000 from directors and staffs within 3 days after the tragedy. We donated the fund to the welfare department and hope this can help a bit.

Luckily, there are a lot of people like us around the world who started to lend their helping hands. But, a destructive disaster with hundreds of thousands wounded and dead, more than two hundred billion RMB economic loses. How much time and money that needed to help those survivors to rebuild their home and hearts? DID really want to give more help but as a small company with limited resources, there is not much we can do.

To archive our dream on helping them, we have spent a large amount of money and time in the past several months on drafting, organizing, perfecting and promoting the plan. We have also finalized the collaboration with the Red Cross Beijing to hold a charity bazaar called "Home Rebuild" from 31st Dec 2008 to 2nd Jan. 2009 in Beijing. DID will donate 2,008 sets of "Chinese Hero Series" figures with the value over RMB600,000. The whole fund will be handed to Red Cross then pass to the Wen Chuan survivors.

Moreover, in the coming 5 years, DID will keep releasing "Chinese Hero Series" products to continue the support to Wen Chuan. According to our estimation, if we can sell about 300,000 - 400,000 pieces of figures with your help, the accumulated donation to help the people in Wen Chuan will be around RMB10,000,000. We will try our best and make use of our expertise on the figurine production. This will not only make the "Chinese Hero Series" more valuable to be collected but also have a much deeper meaning that you can touch and feel the spirit of the heroes.

DiD 帮助灾区重建家园计划

　　2008年5月12日　14时28分，中国四川汶川发生了8级大地震，原本生活安逸的四川同胞，刹那间，家园尽毁，多少至亲至爱，从此阴阳相隔……废墟中，不少是天真无邪的小躯体，已是一脸冰冷；幸存的人啊，肝肠寸断地呼喊……

　　我们泪流满面，体内流淌着中国人的血，DiD董事泪流满面…… 深深感到灾区同胞正陷于水深火热，我们不能有丝毫延误！于是，就在地震后的三天内DiD公司发动了全体员工及各界人士进行募捐，筹得善款合共15.7万元人民币，并交到了当地的社会福利机构，希望为受灾的同胞尽一点绵力。

　　庆幸的是，象我们一样，迅即全球各地均向四川伸出援手，国内人民、港澳台同胞及海外社会各界人士都纷纷慷慨解囊、捐赠物资；仍忧的是，伤亡达数十万人，经济损失超过两千亿人民币的灾区啊，灾民的心灵仍需多少时间去安慰？崩塌的家园要重建，路，是那么的漫长……谁伴同行？

　　我们心里不安，看着电视里一片颓垣败瓦……一片狼藉……我们多么希望能帮多一把……但如何帮呢，毕竟我们只是一家小公司，资金也有限，怎么能做到有效且较长期的去帮助灾区灾民呢？有心无力使DiD的董事心里忐忑不安。不得不承认，忐忑中是电视内一幕又一幕的军民同心救灾的画面让我们找到方向和灵感： 我们，将以自己的方式记念这些中国的英雄；我们，也将以自己的行动与灾区人民在一起！我们可发挥咱们DiD公司的专业特长，设计和生产一系列“中国英雄人偶”，并决定把有关的全部销售盈利都无偿捐赠给灾区以助重建。这就是我们“5年的扶持重建计划”的起源。

　　为了实现心愿，过去数月来，我们DiD努力把这计划完整化详细化，我们落实了与北京红十字会合作，制定了一起于31-12-2008至2-1-2009 在北京举办的"重建家园"义卖活动。多月来，DiD各地奔走、组织筹划，加上各式广告宣传及活动其间的一切開支，费用不菲，这将全数由DiD负责外，DiD并决定送出抗震救灾人民子弟兵2008个作"重建家园"义卖之用。 预计是次义卖活动将得款项约为人民币60万元左右，DiD将无偿把全额捐给北京红十字会转交灾区 。 今后5年内，DiD公司很希望继续生产“英雄人偶系列”来继续帮助灾区。如大家支持、销售理想，预计将可售出30－40万个人偶，可望盈利达人民币1000万元左右，这笔款项亦将会全数无偿捐给四川灾区人民，以帮助他们早日重建家园。总之，我们会努力做到最好，发挥1:6人偶的专家品牌的优势，使全为手工制作“英雄人偶系列”具有更高的收藏价值，让人可近距离感受到英雄的精神化身！。

　　我们确信世人皆忙、营营役役，但总仍忘不了── 那些震撼感人的场面：为了苦难中的生命，部队官兵、消防战士、医疗人员、志愿者们，日以继夜、手刨肩扛、奋力营救，哪怕自己身处危险；为了苦难中的生命，政府第一时间冲锋、人民快速集结，如此真情、如此相爱、如此团结……

　　多少次，我们泪流满面，为脆弱的生命而哭泣，为人性的光芒而震撼，为中国的希望而激动。我们确要向救灾英雄致敬、致谢！同时，的确希望能籍此系列人偶以及相关的、与红十字会合办的赈灾活动可作为一次全民的爱国教育，传诵中国精神和传统美德；掀起社会各界新一轮、为灾区人民重建家园慷慨解囊献爱心的高潮；亦尤其为那些不能亲往灾区的爱心人士提供多一条乐善之路，以切实而持续的形式帮助灾区的重建。
